FROM KOUNELIS TO WARHOL | FROM MERZ TO PISTOLETTO
FROM SIRONI TO ARMAN | FROM VEDOVA TO SCHIFANO
TO CONTEMPORARY ARTISTS
THE EXHIBITION VENUE: HISTORY, ART, AND PRESTIGE. The headquarters of the Mediolanum Padova 3 Consortium, a modern and contemporary structure nestled in a historical architectural context of great importance for the city of Padua, houses part of the Collection, a uniquely elegant and beautiful setting that presents historical works ranging from ancient to contemporary art. Among the most important are the works by Marzio Merz and Michelangelo Pistoletto, from some of Europe’s most important foundations, which have participated in some of the world’s major art exhibitions, including the Venice Biennale. Also on display are works by Andy Warhol and Mimmo Rotella, undisputed masters of international and Italian Arte Povera, alongside works by Jannis Kounellis, another leading exponent of Arte Povera, to whom part of the collection is dedicated. And also the “Balloon Dogs” by Jeff Koons, the most famous living artist, and Alberto Biasi, master of programmed and kinetic art, as well as many other great protagonists of the 20th century and our era. Among the other historicized masters on display will be Sironi, Arman, Vedova, Schifano, and many others.
An exceptional context in which the works of our contemporary masters, supported by the MIIT Museum and Italia Arte, will be inserted into a close dialogue between contemporary languages, research, and experimentation, curated by Guido Folco and Gianfranco Coccia.
